I think that trying to understand what other people want is the
problem. When a producer makes the show he wants to watch, you get
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Deadwood. When they try to make what they
think someone else wants, you get Cop Rock and The Secret Diary of
Desmond Pfeiffer.
