If he really is unique it raises the question of why they were geared up
to do whatever it is that they did.  Ancient prophecy of the one who would
come or such?  I think I might have inquired about the other version of
the
curse/blessing.  You know, the one where when you find your true love she
becomes immortal as well.  Or just leave out the love part altogether.
Sort of like when Willow re-cursed Angel she should have left out the
booby
trap.
