You are kidding, right?  If you walk up to any piece of furniture that was

just finished in the last week, your nose will tell you that it was
freshly 
finished.

I agree, though I will say that they did not seem to have enough evidence
to 
win a conviction in this case.  What are they going to do, have the cop 
claim he 'lip read' the confession?  the existence of a peep room does not

constitute guilt.  If neither the father nor the son confessed/testified, 
the cops wouldn't have much of a case.
