Amsterdam himself treats his having to live forever as a curse, not a
blessing. I wonder if he's right. But the alternate is kind of
depressing too - that most people never find their one moment
of true bliss, or their one true love. 

I think it's a curse. This curse is not just similar to Angel's, it is
the exact same curse. It only looks different because Amsterdam already
had a soul but not immortality.
