That seems like a stretch.  If you already know that off-island
conceptions
aren't a problem what kind of immunity would you be looking for?

She stated (granted in a bit of a cut off way) that it was only a problem
when conception occurred on the island.  Being a competent medical
researcher
Juliette would not have said this unless she had seen some healthy births.
Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
