Trekkie that I am, when I read once about the origin of the term
"caucasian" coming from 19th cent. ethnologists who theorized
man's origin being in Russian Georgia near the Caucasus Mountains
my first thoughts were, "The Garden of Eden in Russia!  That's
what Chekov was going on about!"  Really, he might have read the
same thing and is only blowing a minimal amount of smoke.
