It's im****tant to those who care to think of it as im****tant, not so
much to those who aren't into the process.  Most of the time, the
audience isn't privvy to the thoughts of the authors while the book is
still being written.  LOST is an exception. If you want to keep it
literary, think of LOST as a serial published in chapters every so
often, with lots and lots of foreshadowing of things to come.

If you're not into the forshadowing stuff, then you don't have to be
bothered by it.  The references being tossed around here aren't really
THAT im****tant in the overall scheme of LOST, unless you just happen
to be really interested in the character of Ben.

We last saw it in "The Man Behind the Curtain."  It was in his pack
when he headed off to intercept Jack and company last season, so it
may be physically impossible to show it again unless that pack is
somewhere around.

Oh, unless they somehow decide not to show any more Ben flashbacks
(extremely unlikely), I'd bet a good steak dinner that they'll
eventually make it relevant to the whole character arc in a way that
will make sense to your average viewer.  They really need to humanize
the guy...

In some ways, the producers and ABC have really benefitted by the
strike, because it worked to restrict competition for LOST.  The
ratings haven't suffered a lot in spite of the strike...

RWG (and whatever "timeouts" have stopped watching :-)
