If the sun is going to become a red giant in only 48,000 years, why didn't
SGA's
astrophysicists such as Samantha already know that Atlantis' new sun was
about
to leave the main sequence?

I presume that if the humans defeated Michael's forces, they have advanced
so
much as to make the stargates obsolete, so didn't bother to keep Atlantis
occupied!

Why didn't Rodney put himself into stasis?
