I disagree. The whole point of every movie is that the past can be changed

else why send anyone back?

First Movie: Reese explicitly says that at least his understanding of
whether they can change the timeline or that there are different potential

timelines is ambiguous. The scene from when he is talking to the shrink is

the only time the implications of changing events is brought up.

Second Movie: It is a bit of a retcon in that the reference Sarah being
given a message about 'no fate but what you make' indicates a definitely
changeable timeline.

The Third Movie: Much as I'd like to remove it from my memory, seems to
imply a 'river current' theory of timelines. You might throw a rock into a

river causing ripples but the current of a particular timeline/river flow
dampens out the effects. Unsaid but logically it follows that even by the
third movie's interpetation the timeline can be changed else - as I said
at
the begining: Why else send anyone back? Man or Machine?

Original in the sense of an alternate ending not used. The reason is
obvious: sequels.
