That's one theory of time travel I could NEVER understand: Either it's
changeable or it's not. Saying that little details can be changed but
that the "big stuff" is inevitable, implies there's a Time Fairy who
decides what's im****tant and what isn't and alters the laws of time
travel accordingly.

If my grandfather didn't escape from Czarist Russia, I wouldn't have
been born. According to this theory, if a time traveler returned to
1917, he would be able to prevent him from leaving (a little detail)
but could not have prevented the Communists from taking over (big
stuff).

Subjectively, though, I'd say the first event was WAY more significant
than the second -- and who knows, maybe one of my grandchildren will
blow up an entire continent or something.
