Why?

I like how they treat us like babies; like we believe that Daddy 
"disappears" whenever he pulls a blanket over his face... "Oh no!  Where's

my show go?  Pie Man's gotcher nose!"

I wonder what he means by that?  Which direction "wasn't working"?
