As far as the curse is concerned, he is. That was the condition it
found him when it was laid on him.

It really didn't make sense if you look at it that way. But if you at
it as a love spell adapted for use on a vampire, it sort of makes a
little sense.

Remember the two forbidden trees in Eden? There were the Tree of
Knowledge and the Tree of Eternal Life. Once Adam & Eve ate from the
Tree of Knowledge, they had to be expelled before they ate from the
tree of Eternal Life and became gods themselves. This is all in the
book. But that's not im****tant.

Now bring those two ideas into this curse discussion. There are two
attributes a being can have: a soul, and immortality. Ordinarily, a
being has one or the other, but not both. When the curse is applied to
someone with a soul, it gives them immortality until they find true
love. When this same curse is applied to someone with immortality, it
gives them a soul until they find true love (the only way to have a
moment of true joy). When the curse breaks, the cursed being reverts to
his condition before he was cursed: Angel gets rid of his soul, and
Amsterdam gets rid of his immortality.
