Does it?  It shows that something shaped like Christian talks to
the dog.  That's not quite the same thing.

Not by the quotes I've seen.  They said that everything needed will
be in the show.  But some other things were listed as canon.  All
being canon means (essentially) is that they won't be contradicted.
