The attributions are there and are clear.  Anyone who is confused
by quoting conventions that have been in use for ~30 years probably
can't follow Lost anyway.

I'm not assuming anything is canon.  Things have been *stated* to
be canon.  If they aren't of interest to you, then certainly don't
bother reading them.
