Everyplace else?  What work animals were in use in Australia prior to

There is some evidence that neither the wheel nor the use of draft animals
was discovered independently all over the place.  Rather they were
discovered/developed in a central Eurasian area (Sumeria for the wheel)
and
the use spread from that point throughout the contiguous land mass over
the
centuries.  This occurred after the proto-indians crossed over from Asia
into the Americas, so it didn't go along with them.  Dogs were already
(more or less) domesticated and did go along with them, and were, in fact,
used as draft animals by the plains indians.
