Of course! I've finally figured out why!
I was thinking about doing a video mashup of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA on the
way
home from work when the radio show host on starting playing clips about
past
public figures embroiled in sex scandals and happened to play a clip of
Jimmy Swaggart, and it finally clicked: WHY don't the cylons talk about
the
Final Five models:
THE FINAL FIVE MODELS OF CYLONS ... ARE TRAITORS!
They betrayed the cylons, turned their back on their cylon brethren and
sisthren. And given the cylons religious nature, it makes sense. In
various
religions when you have some who turn against the cause, the members of
religion resort the ultimate punishment (short of death): excommunication,
disfellowshipping, shunning, blacklisting, blackball, ostracism,
disbarment,
declared persona non grata (okay that last one is a more governmental
deal,
but the cylons have their own government ....). The one thing that can be
worse than a religion's Enemy is a Judas.
Besides, look at all the religious imagery beating us over the head with
this season's marketing campaign. It totally makes sense.
