Really? Which other children's TV characters have been associated with 
homosexuality? I can only think of the Teletubbies Tiny Winky who was 
deliberately inserted because it was thought that there might be families 
with gay men in them - or even two gay parents - and the producers wanted
to 
cater for a broad range of social backgrounds. This was later criticised 
because Tinky Winky appeared almost TOO camp when he was seen wearing
ballet 
dresses and not going anywhere with out his red patent leather bag.

I can't think of any others though so please enlighten me. (Captain
Pugwash 
doesn't count as the stories of deliberately inserted vulgar wording was 
merely an urban legend).
