  Well, to be fair, Flash Gordon did improve in the later episodes after
the depths of the seriously stupid Hawkmen episode about 1/3rd of the
way through the season. They actually went with a story arc and a plot.
Still not a good show, but not as bad as a root canal.

  But Flash Gordon has one big advantage over Jericho. It has to be MUCH
cheaper to produce. Flash Gordon had countless scenes take place in the
woods or visits to peoples on Mongo who frequently appear to live in a
tent. Not tents, just 1 or 2 tents they rented from the local Mongo tent
company. The budget for sets must have been zilch. If Sci-Fi were to
pick up Jericho, the budget would be cut so much that all the few
remaining Jericho viewers would do is to complain. Flash Gordon probably
has better odds of coming back for a 2nd season.

  I would rather see Sci-Fi try something new, although their recent
track record on new series, besides Eureka, is not promising at all.
