Well, apparently the indication that the producers have been given the go
ahead to line up directors for the first four episodes isn't a rumor.
However, having the resources identified and ready to go if/when needed
doesn't guarantee anything (it's like ordering additional scripts while
deciding whether to extend a season for the 'back 9'. You need it in
place
if you do go ahead, and it doesn't cost you that much if you don't go
ahead).
What it does do is make it possible for them to shoot most of the fall
episodes before the SAG contract deadline (July 1) if Fox does renew it.
