Legal downloading is still in its relative infancy, but it's expected to
become the major way shows are viewed in the future.  It isn't even
necessary to make any leap to viewing a show "on your computer".
TV set-top or built in devices will be programmed to access the
Internet directly, so it becomes virtually transparent to the user
how the show is being accessed.

For SF, I think the business model will evolve most quickly.  The
genre has a relatively smaller market but much of it is willing to more
strongly support what they like.  Big networks are counterproductive
middlemen in the SF genre, because their business model doesn't really
take advantage of the nature of the market, and because big networks
are for the most part SF clueless.

Depression wouldn't be the word I'd use for my attitude toward a TV show
like this not continuing, if that's what happens.  Annoyance is probably
the
the word I'd use.  Shows like Jericho and Journeyman should continue and
I think can under the right business model.  It's just the big networks
being the primary viewing window that doesn't make sense.
