Among other problems...

Anders, the professional Pyramid player turned amazing guerrilla 
fighter, is suddenly a Viper pilot? What the frak? The show earlier 
made the point that it takes over a year to train a fighter pilot. The 
time difference here is apparently two months. One of the lesser 
writing problems, however.

They have two clear leads to Earth: the eye of Jupiter, and Starbuck's 
feelings. Two different directions. Clearly they should investigate 
both. Why is this not considered?

The whole Cylon detector machine plot sucks. If they ever believed in 
it, why didn't they continue to test everyone on the Battlestar? If 
they didn't believe in it, why did they suddenly use it now? The 
writers can't make a committment, and the result is incoherence and 
inconsistency.

The seven Cylon models arguing about what to do (in the last many 
episodes) made it clear they never had a plan. Likewise, if the writers 
had a plan, they didn't stick to it.
