They all speak English so that we can understand them. Wouldn't be much
fun to create an entirely new language and sub the entire series, would
it?
The point is one must imagine that the language is not English and that
the translation (even human cliches, sayings etc) is as close as
possible to their native language. The same applies to just about any
sci-fi show/novel.
Besides...people in France are asking the same question..."why do they
speak French on Caprica and Tattoine?"
Imagination. It's a wonderful thing...unless you're Dubya....
