Again, we knew back in December NBC had no interest because they
cancelled it. We knew in January that FOX had no interest in staying
in business with Kevin Falls because they terminated his contract under
the force majeur clause. If the site had folded up back then, there
would have been some sense to that. NBC had just booted his show
and FOX had just booted him, and so Falls didn't even have a gig at
that point.
Along comes Sony of all companies -- </sarcasm on> perhaps the guy
at savejourneyman.net has heard of them </sarcasm off> -- and they
sign a deal with Kevin Falls. The site turns to mush. Huh? Why not
be proposing a letter-writing campaign to Sony, suggesting they make
an offer to NBC/FOX so Falls can continue his excellent creation
under the Sony umbrella?
There may be reasons. Maybe the site has an email from Kevin Falls
telling them he wouldn't want any part of Journeyman anymore even if
Sony were willing to buy it up, and asking them to please fold up the
site and not go suggesting anyone bother Sony about this because
they care even less about resurrecting Journeyman than he does. But
the normal reaction for a Save Journeyman site that really understood
the potential dynamics here, and just found out that Kevin Falls had
signed with a billion-dollar company, would be to see that as a new
op****tunity or possible way to get the show picked up. It's far from
unheard of that studios and networks pick up other shows.
