4.0.
The writers seem to have gotten away from the indulgent brooding tone
mode that they fell into in the last couple of seasons, and have
instead, started concentrating on telling a story. And they are doing a
really good job of keeping things moving, while keeping the characters
fresh.
I was impressed with Katie Sackoff in this episode. While she was in
true form by chewing apart the scenery, it seemed more directed and
warranted.
The negative was Baltar, in the scenes with himself. His visions, or
delusions, or implanted-personalities, or whatever they are, are getting
a bit stale.
It'll be interest to see if and how they answer this question: did the
Centurions kills all of the Cavils, Leobens, and Dorals? Or is there one
spokes-cylon for each model? Will they "box" the three now?
BTW, I'm not sure if this has been addressed before: in the Razor movie,
it seems to me that the prophecy is that Kara will "lead you to your
end". That is a vague prophecy: does it mean the end of humanity, the
end of the journey (either to earth or somewhere else), the end of the
war, or the end of running.
Also, I notice that there aren't that many female cylons - There are
only 4 (D'anna, Six, Boomer, and Tory), compared to 7 males (Cavil,
Leoben, Doral, Simon, Saul, Galen, Sam). That makes me wonder, to keep
things in balance, if the 12th model is also a female. Of the major
cast, that makes it more likely that Laura or Kara is a cylon. But it
could also be Dualla or Callie. However, after this last episode, I'm
leaning towards the final model being Paulla Schaffer, the woman who led
Baltar to the bathroom where he was attacked. There seemed to be a bit
of manipulation involved in her attitude - she took him to a secluded
place, provided razor that became the weapon, and then just happened to
get free in time to save Baltar. Just a thought, though.
