Consider having the truly awful show as a show within a show. The main
show is about the producers, writers, cast and crew of a truly awful
show about helicopters that becomes even worse when the budget is
drastically cut. Because of the budget cuts the show resorts to stock
footage, implausible clip shows, outrageous theft of material from
other shows and guest appearances from Paris Hilton and Britney
Spears. We can then see how the people involved with the show interact
with the network, re****ters and over-zealous fans. We could even have
the writers and cast members involved with a blog that starts out
relatively sane, but turns truly strange as the producers and writers
desperately try to produce a show with a totally inadequate budget.
