I think it's been pretty well established that the BSG universe is one 
where things like "prophecy", "miracles", and "destiny" are real, and that

a god or gods may or may not be behind it.

I know there are a lot of people who really, really don't want religion to

ba a part of this show... too late.  At this point, the plot doesn't make
a 
whole lot of sense without it.
