Excepting that the show-within-the-show is a nighttime soap and not an
action series, this is the idea of Moving Wallpaper, about the the
writers and producer of Echo Beach.  You see all the idiocy they have
to go through to make the product.  And then you actually see the
product, when the half-hour Moving Wallpaper is followed by the
half-hour episode of Echo Beach they were working on.
