My own theory is that the storm which crushed her Viper was the BSG
equivalent of the Star Trek trans****ter. It disassembled her and her
Viper and reassembled them near Earth. This would also explain why her
Viper was factory new when she came back. The Mandala trans****ter
isn't perfect and can only trans****t its passengers as idealized
replicas of themselves.
