Hmmm. How about Peter Kwong for Chief Aramaki (
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0477286/
). Although if a Caucasian actor was
allowed, Robert Englund might physically fit the bill (
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm421631488/nm0000387
), and might be able to
perform a decent vocal match.
For Batou, far as established film actors physically matching the part,
Steven Seagal is closest, and wouldn't need much in the way of prosthetics
for the eyes, but vocally would be way off (unless he could be persuaded
to
mime the part and Patrick Stewart covered his lines). My vote would have
to
go to the wrestler, Triple H (Paul Michael Levesque) ( From Blade: Trinity
-
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm314022144/nm0505391
).
For Togusa, I thought about the wrestler Edge, but former WWE wrestler
Chris
Jericho ( http://www.chrisjericho.com/images/Pictures2/Jericho0005.jpg
)
is
physically closer.
Matching Major Kusanagi is the real challenge. There's Deborah Kara
Unger,
who did a copy of the GITS movie's first scene with the Major in a movie
called White Noise ( http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1394579456/nm0000679
).
My
vote, though, goes to Lacey Chabert (
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm358455552/tt0120738
- as Penny in Lost In
Space). She's grown up a bit since, and well, just is the best upfront
suggestion I can come up with as far as US actors go -
