I didn't watch the Friday airing because I read
spoilers and wasn't in the mood for doom and gloom.

What the spoilers I read didn't mention was the
reappearance of the misogynistic ***-with-violence
trope that the show indulges in and in back-to-back
scenes suggests that is what women want.

It didn't help that the stupid idea of "He doesn't
care if he doesn't beat me" also showed up during
news coverage of that polygamist group in Texas.

The stupidity continues with the pu****ng of the
Quorum of Twelve to the forefront.  Moore and Eick
have all but ignored them for the first 3 seasons
presumably because they were a feature of the original
series, so why do they bother now?

It's something that should have been done in Season 1
or Season 2 if for no other reason than to give the
audience a constant reminder that there is a fleet
and the Quorum are representatives of that fleet.
But, hey, since it's the last Season, it matters
little now.

I guess it's to give Lee (the former Viper pilot)
something to do.  A career change that is as arbitrary
as Gaius becoming the leader of a religious cult and
suggests the writers don't know what to do with the
characters.

The episode also was a repetition of the pattern of
killing off a recurring character.  After so many
episodes of showing the character in an unsympathetic,
uncaring, dismal light, the writers try to make the
character sympathetic in one episode to wring a few
tears from anyone with any feeling left after watching
this dismal show regularly.

And where the heck did Kara get paint?  After Moore
made a big deal about things appearing out of nowhere
in "Voyager", he keeps doing stuff like this.

To sum up, the first three episodes of the Final
Season demonstrate why it's a bad idea to allow
things to drag on after a horrendous Season 3.
It's like no one cares anymore and they are simply
going through the motions.
