While I think this is a stretch, what makes it a _real_ stretch is how
we were presented things -- a year ago.

Namely, Starbuck returns and says hi to Lee.  She says she's been to
Earth and will take the fleet there.   He goes "holy frak."

And then what happens next?  The narrator's camera zooms out from the
nebula, out of the galaxy, and back in at the same place to zoom in
to the real Earth, the post 20th century Earth in fact.   And then
the closing credits roll.

It's hard, very hard, to interpret this as anything but the writer
of the show telling us, "We're talking about the real Earth here, baby."

For her to have gone to a fake Earth, all in her head, and them to
immediately show us a zoom into the real Earth, well, it makes no
dramatic sense.    Add to that she comes back with photos of the real
Zodiac, the moon and an admittedly indistinct cloud-flecked blue and
white planet, and I rate it 99% she went to Earth and 1% it's all some
trick.    Yes, "magical" things happened here.   But while Starbuck has
a new viper, it is that new viper which she remembers taking the photos
with, and from which Tigh extracted the photos we saw.

I just can't seem much dramatic purpose to this theory of her visiting
a fake Earth.  What reason do you propose the writers would have for
that?
