True, but then it wasn't giving us a new story on a weekly basis
for those "several decades".

The only problem I have with people arguing that this show or
other can't have longevity is "Who cares?" Enjoy it for as long
as you think it's working, and don't worry about whether it'll
still be enjoyable five years down the road. Hell, it probably
won't last that long anyway.
