That's exactly what I think is going on here.

Tyrol went through a near mental breakdown thinking he MIGHT be a
Cylon after the whole Boomer thing.

Now he can't trust his memories or his actions. He's probably already
half-convinced himself that he didn't replace that part because of his
Cylon programming wanting to commit sabotage.
