I'm amazed at the stuff they're releasing on DVD. And I'm amazed at
myself at how much I'm looking forward to some of them. I've bought the
first three seasons of THE WILD WILD WEST on DVD, with plans to buy the
fourth and final season, and I've had a ball watching them. But,
honestly, they really didn't put much into TV productions in those days.
You can see the same sets used over and over as supposedly different
places, and they didn't try very hard to hide it. And you notice this
this time watching because you'll watch episodes back to back, where in
the original run, you probably wouldn't remember that LAST week the same
cave was used as the entrance to the launch chute.
But I don't think I could sit through VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA,
because I remember even then, the show looked hokey, and you'd see the
same costumes of the time travelers on the guest villains on LOST IN
SPACE. It was that obvious. I was a huge fan of WWW and James Conrad,
but not so much VOYAGE.
The real fun is when THE INVADERS will be released, which will be very
soon. I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed, but I can't help
myself.
