Not even close. It's badly acted, indifferently scripted, and such watered
down pap that it's rare that you can find a single episode worth
rewatching. I've gone back to rewatch all of the series once when
they entered syndication, and TNG was the only one I stopped watching
before the finish. Even Voyager was more fun to watch, and Enterprise
still had episodes with Schran.

No it isn't. It's a classic and will always remain so. I used to think the
same thing, but I picked up the series again after not watching one for
more
than a decade, and I enjoyed the hell out of it. Even Shatner's
overacting,
a thing that drove me NUTS in the movies, worked in the series just fine.

It was *good* soap opera. By far, DS9 had the least skips on
rewatching - this is just plain good television. And I don't agree at ALL
on plot and character. Sisko remains my favorite character of any trek
series of all time, and probably the only one I'd want to sit down and
have
a beer with. Scotty and Dax would be close behind in that department, but
I'm not sure having a drink with either would be healthy. Any DS9 episode
with Ba****r and Garak was a treat.

Voyager was a terrible series, but it was terrible in an
often-entertaining
way. Sometimes laugh-out-loud so. And a handful of times per season,
probably
entirely by accident, it WORKED. I think that happened only twice,
arguably
3 times, in TNG.

Actually, it was mostly simple incompetence, and contains some of the
worst
casting of a television series of all time. Enterprise should never
have happened. *
