Okay, let's think about this. This is Sammael's little timeline in
the Third Age:
1. Breaks out of SG.
2. Establishes self in Illian, posing as "Lord Brend."
3. Provokes war with Rand.
4. Flees to SL, with Rand hot on his heels.
5. Runs throughout the city, delaying Rand with minions.
6. Finds his way to the central square, where Rand follows him.
7. Rand balefires Liah, Mashadar envelops the square.
Alright, so RJ has said that Sammy is dead. Note, however, that what
he said is that Mashadar got Sammy. Sammy didn't get balefired. That
means that the DO could resurrect him.
The reason that I bring this up is that in KOD, we find out that
Moridin certainly didn't order the attack on Rand. None of the others
present at that meeting did. According to Mr. Nae'blis, the man who
ordered that attack was...Sammael. Either that, he said, or a very
convincing imitator. Which do you think more likely.
That leads to the question: Why is he back? More im****tantly, why
hasn't he revealed himself to Moridin? I mean, we all know that the
DO likes sneaky, underhanded power games. Plus, he likes
competition. "Survival of the fittest" and all that. I'm not quite
sure, myself. But it seems likely. Suggestions? Comments? Anyone?
P.S. Just wondering- why do the spammers choose the groups that have
such little activity? Maybe because there's so little competition for
their message? If that's the case, we should just fill this sucker up
with loads of stuff. Let's have lots and lots of crazy speculation,
folks, and get rid of those spammers!
