Yes.

Yes. It's been my argument all along that he *did* finish it. He
finished it at the end of the first book, and then hastily slapped on
two more books. Then he ended it again, and slapped on more sloppy
additions.

You can tell the bits where he tried to finish the series. It's the
bits where Rand kills the Dark One.
