It just occured to me recently that a major complaint about TEA was
leaping from escape to hundreds of years later when the descendants of
the escapees arrive with a vast fleet to save Earth.

"Off Armageddon Reef" and the following Safehold books are about the
descendants of escapees who will build a vast fleet to return to save
Earth and the details of them doing so.

Of course, there was a major setback that's creating the conflict
fueling the story so far and allowing Weber to drag things out to as
many books as he can milk it for.  Most of the first book covered two
years.  55 snippets into the second, it is still the same year as the
first book ended.  This in a series in which it will take at least a
century book time to finish.
