There are more men in the show who /do/ wear wigs (not purple nylon),
with even less explanation (they're not Aliens).  According to
Wikipedia, Mr. and/or Mrs. Anderson proposed that fa****on would go
that way in the next ten years.  This is the view /from/ the sixties,
basically, so...
