H. P. Lovecraft wrote his finest expression of the infiniphobia he
consciously sought to express in his long late story "The Dreams in the
Witch-House", and in that story he points the mystery involved in a very
modern direction indeed, that of horribly advanced mathematics, as taught,
of course, at Arkham University.
