Now Reading - The Dangerous Book For Boys

I wish that these books were out when I was a kid

The Dangerous Book For Boys by Hal Iggulden
and
The Daring Book For Girls by Buchanan and Peskowitz

These are both almanacs/encylopedia type reference books
of all the cool things we learned as kids or should have.
from knots, codes, paper airplanes, game rules, piracy,
to astronomy, history and how to build a treehouse or
make a battery or stink bomb.

Some things you learned from adults, the school yard
playground, each other, scouting, or experimentation.
or when reading Heinlein  ;-)
In the days before tv and video games.

I highly recommend everyone get these books for themselves,
any kids in your life, and make sure your local public library has
them.
