The situation being discussed is different from the ones normally 
encountered in real life. In this situation we're abandoning North 
America and have no plans to come back for anything that gets left 
behind. If a car breaks down there's no need to treat it nicely; it's 
just so much useless scrap metal at that point.

Put it in neutral and have the car behind it give it a push until 
there's an opening at the side of the road to shove it out of the way. 
If the opening leads into a ditch or off a cliff, oh well, down it goes. 
It's going to be buried in ejecta soon anyway so who cares?
