Idle question about DARWINIA and CENTURY RAIN

Specifically, about people's reaction to a particular 
plot detail common to both:

SPOILERS



	We're shown what appears to be an alternate universe (one
where Europe is replaced by an extremely divergent version and
one where Hitler was crushed before WWII could really get going)
and both of them turn out to be similations that have been 
activated from what was supposed to be a passive record.

	People *****ed interminably about that twist in DARWINIA.
They didn't complain about it in CENTURY RAIN. Why the difference?
