I believe the first version of "Day of the Hunter" was "Big Game" 
(written for Astounding for a Probability Zero slot, but not 
accepted, not sold elsewhere). However, I can't remember where I 
read this (just checked _The Early Asimov_, but it has Asimov 
confessing that he couldn't remember what the story was about and 
also believing that the manuscript was lost).
