I don't see many juvenile/ya sf being published these days. Granted, I
don't follow the field as closely as I once did, but the speculative
fiction market for YA seems to concern itself mostly with fantasy.

In fantasy the field seems to be cornered by the large, multi-volume
series (Robert Jordan, Steven Erikson, George R. R. Martin, etc.). I'd
buy more single volume novels, as I've long since been burned on the
series thing.
