I think those are the seminal ones (at least, the only one you could
possibly debate is _The City and the Stars_; _The Fountains of
Paradise_ might be able to take its place, but doesn't have the same
class of scope)

I like the juveniles - _Island in the Sky_ and _Dolphin Island_; _The
Fountains of Paradise_ is super, I'm rather fond of _The Deep Range_
and _Imperial Earth_.  This may just indicate that I've an unusual
attraction to tales spanning the careers of competent engineers: I
could in a contrarian mood be convinced to advocate _2010_ over
_2001_.
