We (and by we I mean people earning more than $50,000/year) would be 
using locked down bricks that we couldn't modify without serious 
tools to open the case, and mouses would still have just one button.

Unless you're positing an alternate world where Wozniak set the 
course for the company instead of Jobs. If so, yes, I'd like to live 
in that world. But it's slightly less probable than a world where 
Richard Nixon won a third term.
