Looks as if the hugo ballot is out.

As usual, I've not read much of the shorter stuff, but the novel
catagory looks pretty good to me.
Best Novel:
The Yiddish Policeman's Union by Michael Chabon (published by
HarperCollins, Fourth Estate)
Brasyl by Ian McDonald (Gollancz; Pyr)
Rollback by Robert J. Sawyer (Tor; Analog)
The Last Colony by John Scalzi (Tor)
Halting State by Charles Stross (Ace)
I've read all of these except the Sawyer. As much as I loved the
Scalzi, McDonald and Stross books, I really think the Chabon is the
best this year. If I had to rank them, it would be
The Yiddish Policemen's Union
Halting State
Brasyl
The Last Colony
Four really great books to me...
If anyone has read Rollback along with some of the others, how does it
compare? I've not read any recent Sawyer, but I've always thought
while his stuff is very readable, it never crosses over the line into
excellent.
