Because, as has become clear, they had no problem with selling 
crap. It was just that Gor was, apparently, offensive crap, which 
is a small subset of crap. Most crap is just crap. It is boring and 
pointless; it does not entertain, it does not educate. But some 
crap is also offensive; it does not just waste time, but becomes an 
actively negative experience.

For instance, in the world of visual arts, Alien Apocalypse is 
crap, Meteor Man is offensive crap.
