Earlier this week, the Globe and Mail printed an obituary for
Arthur Clarke. Today they had the same for one Charles Willis, 90.
Charles Willis, of course, was one of Clarke's pen names, and appears
from time to time in "Tales from the White Hart". Apparently this pen
name had a rather distinguished air force record in WWII.
The first Charles Willis story is 1947. I suppose it is possible the
two officers met at a training session or something of the kind (CW's
service seems to have been in the north of the UK, though).
